Nick & Ian 10/10/2026 - 16/10/2026
Despite the chilly autumn mornings and nights, this past week was absolute magic here at Champ Chevaux! We had the absolute pleasure of hosting Nick and his father-in-law Ian, who arrived last Saturday for a lake-exclusive session.
This was Ian’s first-ever time fishing in France, and what a debut it was! He didn't just find his feet; he smashed his Personal Best TWICE, landing a fantastic total of 7 carp up to an incredible 45.12lb!
Of course, Nick—being an experienced France regular—couldn't let him get away with that easily. Traditional carp safety protocols were strictly applied, and Ian was properly celebrated with a bucket of water over the head... TWICE! That's what father-in-law duties are all about!
Nick kept himself seriously busy too. Putting his experience to work, he managed a massive haul of 32 fish, topping out with a gorgeous specimen at 47.12lb!
With heavy storms forecast for their final night, the guys decided to pack up a day early to make sure everything stayed bone-dry for the journey home.
A massive congratulations to Ian on his new records, and a huge thank you to both of them for an unforgettable week of angling and great banter. We hope to welcome you back to Champ Chevaux in the future.

What a week we've just had here at Champ Chevaux!
We were absolutely delighted to welcome back regular visitors Elaine and Cecil. Having fished our 5-acre Estate lake numerous times under the previous owner, this was their very first trip under our new management—and what a way to mark the occasion!
Despite taking a very relaxed approach and "not fishing hard at all," the carp gods smiled upon them. Between them, this incredible husband-and-wife duo landed 24 carp, pulling out an astonishing run of massive fish!
Cecil kept the alarms singing all week, banking 14 fish with a fantastic 37.2lb average weight! The absolute pinnacle of his week was landing his PB - a monstrous 50lb carp! Dragging that absolute unit over the cord is a memory that will stick around for a long time!
Elaine completely stole the show this week, landing 10 carp. Get your head around this stat: 7 out of her 10 fish were over the 40lb mark , alongside 3 high 30s. This gave her a jaw-dropping average weight of 42lb for the week! Simply amazing Elaine!
Cecil and Elaine were very kind, telling us "This is the best trip we've had here".
You were both an absolute pleasure to host and we can't wait to welcome you back again in the future.
Kris, Martin, Neil & Danny 19/09/2026 - 26/09/2026
What a week for Kris, Martin, Neil & Danny, who headed home after a fantastic session on our Estate Lake.
Between them they put an incredible 57 fish on the bank, including two cats, with a whopping 1,940lb of carp landed across the week — and 15 carp over 40lb!
But for us, it’s not just about the numbers. The guys based themselves around our central social kitchen, which meant plenty of time spent together between the fishing — good food, a few drinks and plenty of laughs. And judging by the review they left us, it sounds like they made some pretty special memories along the way
“Absolutely fantastic venue and an amazing week!… The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, the lake is stunning and the fishing was brilliant.”
They also had some lovely words for us, and it’s genuinely great to hear that the atmosphere and hospitality were just as much a part of their trip as the fishing. 57 fish. 1,940lb of carp. 15 x 40lb+.
A great group of mates. A cracking week. That’s exactly what a trip to Champ Chevaux is all about.

Ryan, Gavin & Phil 12/09/2026 - 19/09/2026
Ryan, Gavin and Phil headed home after spending the week with us. It may have been a slower week by comparison, but the lads certainly didn’t let that stop them putting some great fish on the bank!
Between them, they landed an impressive 15 carp and 3 cats, with 5 carp over 40lb!
Even better, all three managed to beat their PBs while they were here, making for a very memorable week despite the tougher conditions.
To top it off, they left us a lovely review, 'Celia and Paul could not do enough for us, from the moment of booking until we left this morning. We thank you for going above and beyond to make our trip special'.
We’ve really enjoyed having Ryan, Gavin and Phil with us, it’s been a pleasure.

Martyn, Liam, Dave, Karl, George, Steve & Wayne 05/09/26 - 12/09/26
This weeks guests booked both our 5 acre, and 1.5 acre lake, fishing across the two.
Between them they landed 40 fish and unfortunately, lost a few too. But that didn't dampen their week, as they beat PBs and had a great laugh, enjoying the social element of the lake.

Another great week!
Glen, Kyle, Vince and Paul enjoyed a fantastic week on the bank, finishing with 22 fish between them.
With rising temperatures and the week following a full moon, conditions kept things interesting, but the lads certainly made the most of it! Our central kitchen and dining area is always a big part of the experience, and these four certainly embraced the social side — plenty of good food, good laughs and good company!
A great group, a brilliant atmosphere and plenty of memories made. Thanks for a top week, lads — we look forward to having you back again in the futire.

What a week for Jack & Conner!
We’ve had the pleasure of having Jack and Conner with us at Champ Chevaux for the past week, and what a week they’ve had! They experienced pretty much everything the French weather could throw at them — from beautiful hot sunshine to torrential rain and some seriously large hailstones!
The fishing started with a bang too, with both of them beating their PBs on the very first day! Conner, at just 15 years old, landed a fantastic 37lb mirror, before going on to beat his PB again with an incredible 42lb grass carp! Jack wasn’t going to be left behind either, landing a 44.3lb mirror on day one to beat his PB, and then a few days later he did it again with a stunning 45.2lb common!
Between them, they went on to land an amazing 44 fish during their week — 36 carp and 8 cats! More importantly, it’s been brilliant seeing them both enjoy themselves, have a laugh, battle through all the different weather and make some great memories along the way.
A massive well done to you both, Jack & Conner. It’s been an absolute pleasure having you with us, and we look forward welcoming you back to Champ Chevaux again in the future.

A great catch report from Paul, Emma and Andy, who joined us last week at Champ Chevaux Carp Fishing. Paul and Emma are returning guests, and shared a three-rod setup, while Andy fished three rods himself — so they weren’t even fishing the full three rods each that most groups would normally use.
Between the three of them they landed an incredible 57 carp - with some PBs along the way! Even more impressive, they achieved fishing days only.
There was a really good mix of carp landed throughout the week, and it was brilliant to see the lake producing so well. Both Paul & Emma have fished the lake several times previously, and clearly know the great spots!
Thanks to Paul, Emma & Andy for sharing a great week with us, we cannot wait to welcome you back again in the future — and congratulations on the 57 fish!
Charlie, Mark, Ian, Paul, Mark & Harry 06/08/26 - 15/08/26
Despite some seriously challenging conditions, last week’s group managed an impressive 30 fish between them!
With temperatures reaching 40°C+ as France experienced its fifth heatwave of the year, it was simply too hot - The cooler mornings, evenings and nights proved to be the best times to get amongst the carp (even though these weren’t necessarily cool).
A special mention to Charlie, who started his trip in fantastic style by beating his PB on the very first night, landing a stunning 45lb mirror! What a way to kick things off!
These guys needed to get back to the UK, so had to cut their trip short, leaving us Friday morning. Even so, landing 30 fish between them and in those conditions, is a fantastic result.
Well done guys, we’re glad you all got home safely and hope to see you back again in the future
Brandon, Samson, Jack & Dean 01/08/26 - 05/08/26
26 fish in some seriously tough conditions!
We were delighted to welcome ex-Welsh rugby international Samson Lee, along with his brother and friends, for a few days of fishing. Between them, they managed an impressive 26 fish, including 1 catfish and 25 carp. 💪🎣And this came straight after an incredible week where 89 fish had already been landed!
The boys arrived to some seriously hot weather, making conditions tough, but they still managed to put together a fantastic result. In fact, they had to leave us two days earlier than planned — meaning who knows what they might have added to the total if they’d stayed!
Another week of stunning carp from our 5-acre lake, with our latest group finishing their session early this morning after deciding to head home a little ahead of schedule.
A huge well done to the group. Sixteen carp over 30lb, including two stunning 40-pounders, is an excellent week's fishing.
Thank you again for visiting Champ Chevaux. You were fantastic guests, and although one of the lads was looking forward to getting home to the family, we hope you all had a memorable trip. Safe travels, and we hope to welcome you back in the future!

What a fantastic week on our newly opened 1.5-acre lake!
Stephen, Gavin & Thomas enjoyed their first ever trip to France, and what a trip it turned out to be!
The lake is heavily stocked with carp ranging from smaller fish right through to 35lb+, making it a great venue for anglers looking for plenty of action and the chance to build confidence, especially on their first French carp-fishing adventure.
On this lake, we aim for 2 anglers fishing 3 rods each, but on this occasion we had 3 anglers fishing 2 rods each. Between them, they landed an incredible 105 carp over the week! Even better, all three managed to beat their personal bests — a brilliant achievement and something we're sure they'll remember for a long time!
Most importantly, they told us they had a fantastic week and enjoyed every minute. That's exactly what we want our lakes to provide — great fishing, plenty of action and, above all, a memorable experience.
And it seems they've caught the French carp bug… because next year they're coming back for more! Having enjoyed their first experience on the 1.5-acre lake, they've now booked our 5-acre lake, where the carp range from 25lb right through to 55lb+. We can't wait to see how they get on next time!
A huge well done to all three — 105 carp, three new PBs and one very successful first French fishing trip!

When Jake and Kai arrived, they looked at the lake record of 92 fish in a week and said they didn’t think they’d get anywhere near it… Seven days later, they were packing up after landing an incredible 89 fish – just 3 fish short of the lake record!
Their final tally included:
80 carp and 9 catfish, including a superb 58lb catfish, with 15 carp over 40lb and 24 carp over 35lb.
To made the week even more memorable, both left with new personal bests but the really impressive part? They achieved all of this in temperatures pushing 40°C, and they didn’t even fish every night.
A huge congratulations to both of you. It was a pleasure having you here, and next time that lake record might just be yours!

Leigh joined us for the week, and his 12th year fishing here.
This week, the weather was Hot Hot Hot, reaching about 40oC but that didn't stop Leigh - fishing days only, putting his rods out around 9.00am and reeling back in around 9.00pm, Leigh landed an incredible 11 carp, with another in the net that managed to get away.

Phil, Carl, Harrison, Rob & Tyler 09/05/2026 - 16/05/2026
Phil, Carl, Harrison, Rob and Tyler joined us for the week, with Tyler and Harrison never having fished France previously, and Rob, who had, but never caught anything. Well this trip saw them all get plenty of buckets as Tyler and Harrison both smashed their PBs and Rob broke his blanking curse.
The lads landed an incredible total of 54 fish, made up of 45 carp and 9 catfish, with the carp averaging an impressive 32.6lb. The week started with hot conditions before temperatures dropped and with a change in wind direction. they kept the fish biting.
Aside from the fishing the group were an absolute pleasure to host. Plenty of laughs throughout the week and some proper belly chuckles along the way. With Phil, and Carl being regulars to France, they told us that Champ Chevaux was a game changer for them, as the social kitchenette made their trip, they used this as a central base meaning they spent much more time together as a group.

Peter, Joanne & Charlie 02/05/2026 - 07/05/2026
Peter, Joanne and Charlie joined us for the week on the 2nd of May, but unfortunately had to head home a little earlier than planned yesterday morning. Even with a shortened trip, the fishing certainly didn’t disappoint!
Between Peter and Charlie, they landed a total of 17 carp, including:
- 5 carp over 30lb
- 7 carp over 35lb
- 5 carp over 40lb
639.9lbs of carp landed, with an average weight of 37.6lbs - impressive!
What makes the result even more impressive is that they really didn’t fish hard at all — only doing one overnight session during the trip, fishing with just two rods each, and often not even keeping the rods in the water during the daytime!
Joanne decided to take things easy and enjoy a relaxing week by the lake while the boys did the fishing.
A brilliant family trip with some lovely fish along the way.
Glad you got home safely guys, and we hope to see you all back again soon!

Dale and Paul joined us for their first visit to Champ Chevaux this week. They landed a total of 18 carp, with the largest being a stunning 44.14lb common A great result — especially considering that midweek some of the fish switched into spawning mode; always a good sign of a healthy, thriving lake. We have a week off this week, carrying out some maintenance, and allowing the fish to finish spawning and get back on the feed.
A massive thank you to Dale and Paul for being great guests — we had a brilliant week and hope to see you both back again in the future.

Gavin, Colin and Malc joined us for their first trip to Champ Chevaux Carp Fishing, but as returning guests from when the lake was Etang Tissier, having been visiting the lake for 12 years! They had a great week with us, and landed 18 fish, including a 48lb mirror, now known as 'The Boss'.
Following their visit, they wrote the following review: Yet another great week at Champ Chevaux. I first came here in 2014 and have been returning ever since so that should tell you everything. The lake is stunning set in a picturesque part of France and so peaceful. If you want a bend in your rod or rods then this place is for you , there are so many stunning fish in this highly stocked lake. If you’re looking for a lake that has a great social aspect you will not find a better place. There’s plenty of English power points and great utilities bank side too. The new owners Celia , Paul and Adam greeted us on arrival and they could t do enough throughout the week for us. We had bait boat issues so Paul kindly lent us his one so it didn’t ruin our week. Thank you guys. Honestly anyone looking for a great week then you will not go wrong here. We will definitely be retuning again.

Ryan, Ashley and Steve joined us for their first trip to Champ Chevaux Carp Fishing and had a great week. We had a sudden spike in temperatures this week, but they still pulled 29 fish out the water, some absolute beauties.
Ryan sent us the following message when he got home: Hello, I just want to thank you, Paul and Adam for such an amazing week!! It was perfect. You’ve got a stunning fishery!! The food was perfect all week! You lot couldn’t do enough for us! I will deffo be back! Again thank you so so much!! We have all loved it!!

This week was the first week that we were actually able to spend some time fishing the lakes so when we got the odd hour, we got a line out. As you can see we had some good results. Simply amazing to be fishing lakes as the owners :-D

Kevin, Geoff and Gary fished with us at Champ Chevaux and had lovely weather compared to the week previous. They fished four out of six swims and had 25 carp between them. They had such a great time, they've already enquired about returning to us next year, and we cannot wait to have them back!

Paul & Andy arrived with us for a very wet week, but the significant decline in temperature didn't stop them catching a staggering 49 carp, ranging up to 44lbs, a selection of which you can see below. Thank you Paul and Andy for being great guests.
