About Us

Paul and Celia acquired Champ Chevaux in September 2025. Previously known as Etang Tissier and operated by former owners Peter and Tish Boswell, the property was renamed in honour of its original title when Peter retired to the UK. Paul and Celia jumped at the opportunity to purchase the lakes, land, and property, making a long-held dream come true.

Historically, the land and lakes were known as Champ Chevaux, which translates from French to Horse Fields. While there are no horses currently on the property, it felt only right to return to this original name and preserve a bit of its history.

Both Paul and Celia are passionate animal lovers. Joining them at Champ Chevaux are their five friendly dogs, one cat, three chickens and two goats. While the pets love meeting new people, the animals are always kept away from the lakes — you’re very welcome to come and say hello, just let us know and we will happilt introduce you.

Meet the Owners

Paul is a lifelong angler, with over 50 years of experience in both sea and lake fishing. He began his career as an engineer before moving into plumbing, but fishing has always been his greatest passion. Owning and running Champ Chevaux is truly a dream come true.

Celia built a career in the care home sector, working as an operations director for a luxury care home group prior to moving to France. Though she originally focused on sea fishing, her passion for France and carp fishing grew after meeting Paul.

The Lakes and Land

At Champ Chevaux, we offer exclusive carp fishing, set in peaceful countryside surroundings. Whether you're an experienced angler or trying carp fishing for the first time, our two well-maintained lakes provide the perfect setting to unwind and connect with nature.

We have two lakes on the property:

Main Lake:
Approx. 5 acres in size, this is our primary carp fishing lake, accommodatomg up to 6 anglers. The lake is well-stocked with a variety of carp, up to 50lb with impressive specimens for those seeking a challenge.

Smaller Lake:
Around 1.5 acres, this lake is ideal for  2 anglers or for those looking for a more intimate, peaceful experience. Again, this lake is well stocked, with carp up to 30lb.

Our swims are kept natural to preserve the lake’s character, while still providing safe, comfortable, and easily accessible fishing spots.

If you're not confident on the lakes or simply want some support, Paul is available and always happy to help. With over 50 years of angling experience, he’ll do his utmost to make your time here enjoyable and successful.
